Promotions and Conferences at UKIM

Working meeting with the vice-deans for science of the UKIM units 


On 13 December 2023, the vice-deans for science of the UKIM units and the vice-rector for science prof. Valentina Gechevska PhD, had a working meeting. Members of the University Commission for Science were also present at the meeting. Follow up on what has been done so far and planned future activities were the focus of this working meeting.
Publishing with Open Research Europe 


UKIM, in cooperation with Open Research Europe, realized an e-workshop. With this, the academic staff had the opportunity to learn about Open Research Europe (ORE), the European Commission’s open access publishing platform. The platform provides all Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, Euratom & COST Actions-funded researchers with a high-quality venue to publish their results with ease.

CONFERENCES 
Digital Transformation, Data and AI in the Western Balkans

The hybrid Conference "Digital Transformation, Data and Artificial intelligence in the Western Balkans" was held in Skopje, 9-11 December 2021. 
The conference was organized by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in association with: 
• UN FAO - Food and agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, 
• UN GGIM - United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management and 
• University Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje (UKIM).

Aims:
• to investigate how digital technologies, data and AI influence changes in societies, 
• following Europe's ambition to become the world-leading region for developing and deploying Artificial Intelligence in the global context,
• grown awareness for the Western Balkan regions to adopt and benefit from these emerging technologies.
